Azia Avant Thai handles dinner from Thailand, The Grill puts seafood, Prime Angus beef and lamb on candlelit tables with panoramic views of the Caribbean, and The Deck is the beachfront spot beside the main pool for breakfast and lunch. Mesa del Chef is a nine-course tasting menu with paired wines for up to four guests, at an additional charge. After dinner, the Allegria Bar has live music and the Club Royal theater stages shows.

Days can be slow or busy. Six pools include four for relaxing and the infinity pool, with Balinese beds and an optional pool concierge. The Retreat spa has a sauna, steam bath and treatment rooms set among the gardens, open 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM to guests 18 and over for an additional fee. The gym is open until 11:00 PM and a cardio gym never closes. Two tennis courts, sailing, snorkeling and kayaking are on site, a PADI 5-star dive center teaches certification courses, and the daytime program includes Oaxacan art workshops, tequila tastings and sushi or cocktail classes. Cozumel is a 45-minute ferry ride away.
